MOTORS is powered by over 170 talented individuals, across our office based in Richmond Upon Thames. Each employee brings their unique strengths to build a marketplace making it easy for millions of car buyers to find their perfect car.

We have over 15 years’ worth of experience in helping people find the right car - from the right retailer, at the right price - with the latest tools and technology.

2007

Company founded

Company is founded and branded as Cox Automotive. 

2018

First Acquisition

Cox Automotive is acquired by the eBay Classifieds Group, under the name of eBay Motors Group joining forces with Gumtree. 

2020 - 2022

Subsequent Acquisitions

After sale from eBay Classifieds Group to Adevinta, eBay Motors Group and Motors.co.uk goes through a subsequent sale to consortium of O3 Industries and Novum Capital in December 2021. 

2023 - 2024

Recent Years

Dealer facing brand eBay Motors Group and consumer facing Motors.co.uk unite under one hero brand of MOTORS.
