Our Story

Gumtree was founded in 2000 by two friends to build a community where people could find everything they needed and today Gumtree is still one of the UK’s largest online classifieds sites. With nearly a million new ads on the site each week and a whopping 10 million unique visitors every month community is at the heart of who we are, and what we do.
